I’ll take A Touch Of Frost over the Large Hadron Collider any day

You can’t beat a good forum discussion for invigorating brain stimuli, can you? You can find absolutely anything on forums (so people tell me, of course..): do plants feel? Does the sun ever get a bit cold? (Four year old Sammy from Liverpool.) And sometimes actually quite intriguing things which really do matter–no offfence Sammy–one of which is the subject of this article: Is David Jason too old to play detective Frost and should he think about changing his mind and coming back to reprise his masterful role?

Wow.

This knocked me for six, almost as much as the person who pondered whether or not the sun could get cold; David Jason, I thought, Surely if there is one actor on this Earth who has done enough good things to deserve calling the shots, it has to be him.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I can see exactly where the fan who started this discussion is coming from, and in a way they have a good point: Del Boy was a diamond geezer, and grumpy-git Detective Frost will surely be sorely missed by many, but if not now, then when should he consider calling it a day? As much as technology is advancing at a terrifyingly rapid rate, I seriously doubt that even the fastest electric wheelchair will be fast enough to catch those pesky crooks in their Ferrari (though it would of course be fantastic to watch).

But there is a way, I began to think: if the European government can justify spending many millions on The Large Hadron Collider—a town-sized particle accelerator buried deep in the ground in Geneva, Switzerland, which aims to reveal some of the mysteries of the universe—then surely there must be a tiny possibility that enough fans could get together with a petition large enough to justify having a time machine made for David Jason to step in to?

That would be worth watching and I’m sure David Jason would love it.
